Below is a list of activities & events that were held throughout 2009 Schoolies to use as a guide of what's in store for 2010.

Remember in 2010 activities & events will only be held from Saturday 20th November to Wednesday 24th November.

Free Day Activities

Amusement Activities

Free amusement activities were available each day at Schoolies Central between 1-5pm and 8pm-Midnight. These activities included:

• Fly Wall
• Horizontal bungee
• Gladiator challenge
• Mechanical bull

A Schoolies ID is required to access all activities.

Water Sports

Schoolies received unlimited free non-motorised water sports at Airlie Beach Water Sports, located at the other end of the Lagoon from Schoolies Central. Discounts were also availabe to schoolies for motorised water sports. Schoolies ID was required to access these offers.

Night Entertainment

Dance Parties

Dance parties were held each night from Sunday - Thursday at Magnums Nightclub. Two sessions were available each night to cater for demand - 7.30-9.30pm and 10pm-Midnight. The dance parties had various themes, as detailed below. Schoolies were encouraged to get into the party spirit by coming dressed in costume!!! There were great prizes to be won at each dance party!

Dance Party Tickets

In 2009, all Magnums Nightclub dance party sessions cost $10. Tickets were only available from the Dance Party Ticket Sales Desk at Schoolies Central during Registration Area opening times. Ticket prices for 2010 are yet to be determined.

Schoolies ID must be produced to purchase dance party tickets and gain entry to the dance parties. The organisers will refuse entry to those who are under the influence of any substance.

Schoolies Idol by the Lagoon

In 2009 the new event 'Schoolies Idol by the Lagoon' was introduced. Great prizes for the best performance were handed out for those who tried out their 'voice' at karaoke. Free Entry was offered to Schoolies on Wednesday 25th November, 7.00pm - 10.00pm at the Southern end of the Lagoon.

Red Frog Stage

Live DJ's and other entertainment were available each night at the Red Frog Stage, located within Schoolies Central. Also on offer were free amusement activities from 8pm-Midnight. FREE entry for Schoolies only. Bags were not allowed into the Red Frog Stage and entry was refused if Schoolies were thought to be under the influence of any substance.

Discounted Tours and Activities

Big Fury

Get there before the crowds aboard one of the Whitsundays most exciting rides, Big Fury. We take you to Coral Reef Sites in comfort and at a third of the travel time of some other boats. The first stop is the amazing Whitehaven Beach, where you can enjoy two hours of swimming, relaxing or strolling along the 7 kms of pure white silica sand followed by a one and a half hours of coral reef snorkelling at another location! Departs daily at 10.30am and returns at 5pm. Price includes lunch, afternoon tea and snorkelling gear.

A 'Schoolies Special' discounted price was offered to each schoolie.

Bookings were made at Schoolies Central during Schoolies.

Cruise Whitsundays/Awesome Adventures Oz

Cruise Whitsundays offered a number of exciting day trips out on the water while Schoolies were visiting the Whitsundays. If it's the Great Barrier Reef, Whitehaven Beach Sailing or an island visit - contact us!

Great Barrier Reef Adventure

Cruise Whitsundays/Awesome Adventures Oz offered a special Schoolies day cruise out to the Great Barrier Reef for a greatly discounted price. The Great Barrier Reef trip was a full day out to Knuckle Reef Pontoon and included all food and plenty of activities - snorkelling, swimming or check out the giant waterslide! Bookings were made at Schoolies Central

Fantasea

The two most popular Whitsunday Schoolies day cruises aboard Fantasea were to Reefworld on the Great Barrier Reef and to Whitehaven Beach.

Reefworld

Imagine how cool it'd be to snorkel (all snorkelling gear provided) or dive (optional extra) to check out all the different types of coral and marine life, plus enjoy semi-sub rides.
A great BBQ lunch was included in the extra special Schoolies discounted price.

2 Island Whitehaven Beach Cruise

Travel on our 2 Island Whitehaven Beach cruise and visit both Hamilton Island and  magnificent Whitehaven Beach. In 2009, lunch was included in the greatly discounted price.


Complimentary bus pick-ups were available for both cruises and seats were limited. Bookings were made by visiting Fantasea's stand in Schoolies Central during Schoolies or their Travel Centre at Shop1, 4 The Esplanade, Airlie Beach.

Sundowner Cruises

Experience the Whitsunday's only dance party on the water with a Sundowner Party Cruise including Live DJ! Cruises operated from Saturday 21 - Thursday 26 November with 3 cruises each night. The first cruise ran from 6-8pm, the second from 8-10pm and the third from 10-Midnight. A discounted price was available to Schoolies only.

Bookings were made at Schoolies Central during Schoolies. Limited spaces were available. Schoolies ID must be shown to purchase tickets.
