What's Schoolies Central?

'Schoolies Central' is- a one stop shop for schoolies in central Airlie Beach. The idea for Schoolies Central grew from recognition that schoolies had no designated space during the day to meet other schoolies, ask questions, hang out or participate in activities.

Many schoolies choose to spend the day (and night) there - relaxing, hanging out with friends, having fun on amusement activities, and partying! In 2010, the organisers of Schoolies are making Schoolies Central even bigger and better.

Where's Schoolies Central?

Schoolies Central is located in the central Airlie Beach Car Park (next to the Lagoon).

What's on offer in Schoolies Central?

Registration Area

The Registration Area is where schoolies register to receive their official Schoolies ID card. Without this card they will not be able to access Schoolies events or activities, or receive the great discounts offered by local business and tour providers. Chill Out Zone

The Chill Out Zone is where schoolies can go to access assistance and feel safe. If it's all getting a little too much and you need somewhere to chill, relax, re-hydrate and rejuvenate, visit the Chill Out Zone. It is located outside the fenced area of Schoolies Central, near the entrance to the Llagoon. The service is staffed by a Coordinator and a team of volunteers, and is open during the following times in 2010:

Saturday 20 - Wednesday 24 November: 7.00pm-2.00am

At all other times, visit the Information Desk or Registration Area for assistance.

Information Desk

The Information Desk is open for all general enquiries about:

• What activities and discounts are available to schoolies
• How to obtain a Schoolies ID or replacement ID
• Airlie Beach and the Whitsundays
• Lost property
• And anything else you may need!
  

Tour Sales Desks

Many local tour operators offering special discounts to schoolies have sales desks at Schoolies Central. Remember you must have your Schoolies ID to purchase these tours.

The Information Desk and Tour Sales Desks will be open during the following times in 2010:

Saturday 20 November: 9.30am-5.30pm
Sunday 21 November: 9.30am-5.30pm
Monday 22 November: 9.30am-5.30pm
Tuesday 23 November: 10.00am-5.00pm
Wednesday 24 November: 10.00am-5.00pm

Dance Party Ticket Sales Desk

The dance party tickets are available from a desk located within the Registration Area, and are available when the Registration Area is operating. Visit our Registration page for these times and check out the Activities and Events Schedule page for more information on the dance parties.

Free Amusement Activities

Schoolies will have access to a wide range of fun and FREE amusement activities at Schoolies Central. In 2010, these will include horizontal bungee, gladiator challenge, fly wall, mechanical bull and footy pass. These activities are available daily from 1-5pm and 8pm-Midnight. A Schoolies ID is required to access these activities. Check out the Activities and Events Schedule for more information.

Red Frog Stage

In 2010, every night a live DJ from the Red Frog Crew will cranked up the music at the Red Frog Stage within Schoolies Central. Hundreds of Schoolies flocked to the stage in 2009 to party on after the nightclub dance parties, packing the venue and creating a fantastic atmosphere.

Remember you must have your Schoolies ID to access the Red Frog Stage. Bags are not allowed into the stage and you will be refused entry if you are visibly under the influence of any substance.
